What made Ibrahim logical?
Prophet Ibrahim once smashed idols worshiped by his people, and when the people asked him if he was the one to destroy them he said the idols should speak up, if they were truly all-powerful gods.
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ٧٥ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ ٧٦ فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٧٧ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ ٧٨ وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ ٧٩ وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ٨٠ وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ ٨١ وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ٨٢
Abraham responded, “Have you ˹really˺ considered what you have been worshiping—you and your ancestors? They are ˹all˺ enemies to me, except the Lord of all worlds.˹He is˺ the One Who created me, and He ˹alone˺ guides me.˹He is˺ the One Who provides me with food and drink. And He ˹alone˺ heals me when I am sick. And He ˹is the One Who˺ will cause me to die, and then bring me back to life.And He is ˹the One˺ Who, I hope, will forgive my flaws on Judgment Day.” (26:75-82
How Can I Be Logical Like Ibrahim?
The Prophet Muhammad (s) told us not to be blind followers of the people around us, but to think for ourselves, something Prophet Ibrahim did. Next time you see yourself chasing a trend, ask yourself if it’s actually of any benefit, and if it’s bringing you closer to Allah.
