Standing in Solidarity: Commemorating One Year of Resistance and Advocacy for the People of Gaza
USCMO Announces Urgent Action for October 7th
October 7th marks one year of the ongoing genocide faced by the people of Gaza. On this day, we must come together to ensure our voices are heard amidst rising Islamophobic and anti-Palestinian rhetoric. USCMO, of which MAS is a member, is calling on each of you to take part in our social media campaign to stand in solidarity and demand justice.
We urge you not only to share the attached graphic on your social medias, but also to mobilize everyone in your circles—friends, family, organizations—to post it on October 7th. Together, we can amplify the message that the Gazan people have not been forgotten, and we refuse to let hateful narratives dominate.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ ٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ۚ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًۭا فَٱللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَا ۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ وَإِن تَلْوُۥٓا۟ أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًۭا
O believers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Allah even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, Allah is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate ˹from justice˺. If you distort the testimony or refuse to give it, then ˹know that˺ Allah is certainly All-Aware of what you do. (4:135)
Justice has never been about convenience nor ease. It is our moral duty that we uphold truth & justice to the best of our abilities. There will be a day where everyone will be held to account, and we hope to stand as witnesses with the oppressed, not the ones being testified against. “Allah is CERTAINLY All-Aware of what you do”.
