All praise is due to Allah, we seek his refuge, and ask for his forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from our own bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can misguide him, and whoever Allah misguides, no one can guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah Alone, and I bear witness that Muhammad is his messenger.
Knowing The Best Messenger ﷺ
- One of the things Allah SWT loves is for us to speak about the blessings He has given us and see the effects of His blessings upon us
- One of the greatest blessings that we have received is that we are from the ummah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, as a way to free us from misguidance
- We not only received a messenger, but we received the best messenger of all
- Out of all of the names that Allah SWT gave to the Prophet SAW, the best name comes in two places in the Quran, when he refers to him as His servant (‘Abdih, ‘Abdullah)
- This is because our life purpose is to worship Allah SWT, so when Allah SWT refers to the Prophet SAW as Abdullah, it means the Prophet SAW has fulfilled his life purpose
- We should rejoice in the Prophet SAW being our messenger and a mercy to the universe
What Should We Know about the Prophet ﷺ?
- We should know the entire life of the Prophet SAW
- The Quran on its own is not enough, because iman (faith) is not complete until you love the Prophet SAW more than you love anything or anyone else
- How are you supposed to love someone if you don’t know them or their story?
- The Prophet SAW didn’t want to make things hard on us – he wanted to make the path to Jannah easy for us to achieve
- In everything the Prophet SAW did, he was thinking about his entire ummah
- He would make duaa for the ummah in every salah he made, and he is saving a special duaa for us on the Day of Judgement
How Do We Show Our Love of the Prophet ﷺ?
- If you truly love someone, you will follow them
- Learn about his life and his sunnahs
- Be excited and dedicated to implementing his sunnah
- Send lots of salawat on the Prophet SAW
