Khutbah Toolkit: Quick Guide
All praise is due to Allah, we seek his refuge, and ask for his forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from our own bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can misguide him, and whoever Allah misguides, no one can guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah Alone, and I bear witness that Muhammad is his messenger.
The Struggle Between Evil and Good
- There is an eternal struggle between good and evil, since the creation of
Adam AS. - Allah SWT made it so that good and evil would be a personal choice
that each of us must make on our own. - There is one group of people that Shaytan is not able to take off the
guided path: Allah’s sincere, pure servants. - We may have chosen to defy Shaytan, reject oppression, reject injustice,
and reject evil, but that’s not enough because it is a passive choice
Actively Resisting Evil
-
We do an injustice by being passive and not actively helping our
brothers and sisters. -
To defy oppression, injustice, and evil, we must actively stand against it
-
By pushing back and countering, we will be able to stop evil from rising.
-
The reason we are empowered and given leadership generation to
generation is for Allah SWT to judge us by our actions and see what we
do with that power. -
You cannot leave a power vacuum to be filled by forces of evil – you
must be proactive and fill in that space before evil does. -
When someone asks us what we stand for, many of us keep our heads
low and don’t say anything out of fear and wanting to stay safe, but this
is wrong. -
The needle will stay right where it is, unless you move it forward or let it
fall backward.
The Example of AMP
- American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) is an example where Muslims
came together and decided to repel evil in this country as much as they
could. - They organize, meet with Congress members, and advocate hard for
Palestinian rights. - Many of us may despair of America’s continuous support for Israel’s
genocide of Palestine, but what do we expect from the forces of
injustice? - When we stand before Allah SWT, He will not ask us about what others
have done. He will ask us what we have done to repel evil and
oppression.
